Mustang Electric History

Charles Malone is the owner of Mustang Electric, which was founded by Tim Dixon in 2004. Dixon died in 2014. Malone took over soon after.

Malone began as an electrician apprentice in 2007 and then passed a critical exam to become a journeyman electrician after 8,000 hours of training. He went to work for the company as a journeyman in 2009.

He is now a master electrician and has held that level of experience since 2017. To receive the master electrician designation, a candidate must complete another 2,000 hours of training over two years and take another exam after the journeyman electrician classification.

Professionalism

A master electrician must be able to:

  • Create electrical blueprints for building plans
  • Solve complex failures in an electrical system
  • Monitor, evaluate, and coach other electricians
  • Serve as the point of contact for business owners and vendors
  • Plan and execute projects with professionals such as architects, engineers, general contractors, and others

Malone manages all of the above skills with a warm handshake and a smile for all of his customers, whether in Marble Falls, Burnet, Kingsland, Granite Shoals, Spicewood, and surrounding communities. His electrical team is friendly and willing to make customers feel comfortable.

Community is Important

Mustang Electric supports Shoot for Coop, a local fundraising event held in the Texas Hill Country for area high school student scholarships as part of the Cooper DeSpain Memorial Scholarship Fund.

A family atmosphere is important to Charles and his team, and they gather regularly for backyard barbecues and company celebrations. Charles and his fiancée, Christine, have three children in elementary school.

If you’ve heard about electricians falling through the ceiling while working on an electrical project in the attic, Charles is proud to report that he has never experienced that! He does mention, however, being chased by dogs whose owners forgot to secure them when he arrived.

Malone is extremely appreciative of his staff and the community of electricians he works with. The mission of Mustang Electric is to provide better service for his customers every day, Malone said. As a locally owned company, Mustang Electric provides hometown services to its neighbors and you can shake hands with its owner.

When you have an electrical need, call Mustang Electric for service with a smile.
